In recent months we have experienced a slight slow down in the property market throughout Northern Ireland. However, most people who have bought prior to 2007 have made substantial equity growth on their property and therefore should be well protected from any potential slow down on pricing levels.
There have however been over enthusiastic speculative investors who are not seeing a capital increase over the short term but hopefully will see a good level of growth over the longer term. For this reason there is an increased perception that the market is in substantial decline. This is not necessarily the case as a slow down does not mean all doom and gloom but that it is a slight correction and that the market will in due course come back again!
At present there are therefore many potential "bargains" available on the market but this will NOT last long as the majority of home owners will wait for a return in confidence in the market and prices WILL eventually be reflected in the increase in activity in the market. If you are thinking about purchasing a property NOW IS THE TIME TO DO IT!
